Reflection:
Going into this class, I was a little apprehensive about the subject, as I was unsure the meaning of abnormal psychology. The teacher explained this previously foreign area of study in a way that helped me make sense of the many diagnoses that are part of this class. I was intrigued with the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder due to a friend who went through a terrible bout of PTSD. My case study writing was a comparison between his story and the case in the book. I became aware of how PTSD was caused, some of its symptoms and various treatments. Throughout the class, I learned new theories concerning the array of diagnoses that were discussed. This will help me understand patients better as I pursue my degree in Physical Therapy because I learned that everyone brings a variety of background and inner thoughts with them to the clinic.
