About My Work Experiences
As I am going to school pursuing my dream of becoming a Physical Therapist, I am currently working part-time as a Project Scheduler in the Project Management Project Office's Support Team in the Media Services Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a Project Scheduler, I utilize information provided by the Project Manager to build and maintain project schedules and schedule templates. I monitor and report on project schedules, coordinate needed schedule updates, follow up on missed milestones, and ensure proper communication of scheduling issues.
As I have for over 10 years, I am a competitive swim coach for a USA Swimming team. Currently, I am coaching for the Wasatch Front Fish Market. Each afternoon, I coach about 12 developmental level swimmers ages 6 to 12. I have a passion for competitive swimming. I have gained many life changing experiences because of my time as a swimmer and as a coach.
Previously, I worked as Aquatic Manager at Murray City’s Park Center and Aquatic Center and for Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation at Fairmont Aquatic Center as Program Coordinator over aquatics has given me ample opportunities to develop and advance my management skills. I worked with a diverse group of employees and staff and took the Centers to a new level of organization, programming and participation. Through the many skills and contacts I gained while managing these aquatic centers, I feel I am in a great position to build upon the strong foundation as I pursue my new goals.
I have completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Performance Management with an emphasis in Sports and Recreation. My education has provided me with a solid academic grounding in management skills within the recreational setting. Projects included creating special event plans and schedules, running recreational activities and events and completing an internship with Campus Recreation. I also developed my verbal and written communication skills and am proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, Hy-Tek Meet Manager and Team Manager, Colorado Timing Systems, SportsMan and CLASS software, along with many web-based programs. Additionally, I have a great desire and ability to learn.
As a Swim Coach for the Layton Surfers Swim Team and a charter member of the team’s Board of Directors I am working directly with the team president and owner to improve the coaching, organization and communication of the team. While serving on the Layton City Parks and Recreation Commission, I enjoyed planning and organizing the annual 5K Fun Run, as well as the planning of Layton Liberty Days. I am involved in teaching and training candidates of Lifeguarding and Water Safety Instructor for the American Red Cross. During the 2002 Winter Olympics I was a Team Leader at American Red Cross First Aid Stations throughout Salt Lake City and Park City.
